Even celebs are getting into decluttering. And they’re selling the pieces they no longer want. Remember that endless line under the spring sun in New York a couple of years ago for Chloë Sevigny’s closet sale? Well, another beloved it-girl is now following in the Kids actress’s footsteps: Alexa Chung has decided to put part of her wardrobe up for sale. But don’t worry, there’s no need to book a flight to NYC, all you need to do is browse Vinted.

Vintage Queen: Alexa Chung’s Unique Style Philosophy

The stylish Brit is known for her eclectic looks, described by the New York Times as “tomboy-meets-Lolita”, a perfect blend of girly and boyish elements, indie sleaze and romance, essentials and twee-style whimsy. Her love for vintage plays a big role in what makes her outfits special: I love the magic and rush of unearthing something unexpected that might knock your comfortable style out of its regular lane slightly. Vintage fashion has the ability to breathe new life into your wardrobe because it brings with it an inherent playfulness. I think there’s something so romantic about connecting to another era through what we wear. The idea that you can repurpose and bring a new attitude to something that was made for another time and another context, I find the concept of trends coming back around and evolving each time, weirdly comforting amidst the current chaos. And it’s so nice to wear something unique that nobody else can buy, unless they’re treasure hunters like you.”

Alexa’s Wardrobe Hits Vinted. Here’s What’s Up for Grabs

That’s why Alexa chose to team up with the popular second-hand clothing platform, offering lucky fans a chance to snag her favorite pre-loved pieces. We’re talking a drool-worthy selection of dresses, bags, sunglasses, and shoes from brands like PradaJW AndersonKhaiteMagda Butrym, Galvan London, and more. The most coveted pieces? A pair of silver Dries Van Noten sneakers, glossy black Saint Laurent ballet flats, a delicately embroidered Miu Miu bralette, and a vintage coral silk dress from the 1930s worn by Chung at Paris Fashion Week. I’m also selling a pink Gucci bag, which I already slightly regret.” she confessed. “But I am doing the clear out with Vinted because my style is evolving. These items carry so many memories and we had great times together but now it is time to kiss them goodbye and the idea that they can live on in someone else’s wardrobe and be new again to them is very appealing.”

Alexa’s Hunt for Vintage Gems — And Her Second-Hand Shopping Tips

Alexa admits she’s always on the lookout for '90s Prada mules, Chanel ballet flats in odd colors, and those fish-painted bags from the Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama collab — while still thinking about that black velvet Vivienne Westwood corset with a skeleton print she missed on Vinted. To help others avoid making the same mistake, she shared her top second-hand shopping tips:

  • Make sure the item is authentic by using Vinted’s Authentication Service;
  • Take your time exploring,  don’t rush, and only buy pieces that truly reflect your personal style;
  • Use online communities and marketplaces for advice and insights;
  • Know your size, compare with similar items from the same brand that you already own to be safe.

She also shared a few tips on how to sell successfully on Vinted:

  • Write a compelling description, including the story behind the item;
  • Share styling tips: suggest ways to wear the piece you’re selling;
  • Be honest and clear: take bright, well-lit, high-contrast photos that highlight every detail, including flaws.
