Everyone's life begins the moment we are born, and thank you you will say. But the life we want. When does it begin? Ludovica Coscione is 24 today, at 16 she gets her chance. A talent scout believes in her, believes she can make it in show business, and she did. From "Non dirlo al mio capo" to "Il paradiso delle signore", Ludovica comes to "Mare Fuori", the series TV, which with its third season is on everyone's lips and - we are sure - yours too. Here Ludovica plays Teresa, a sweet and creative girl who falls in love with Edoardo, one of the inmates in the series. «My passion for acting comes from a search for freedom and a desire to get out of my microcosm and immerse myself in other lives. I do not have very clear memories, but my parents tell me that when I was three years old, my sister played with Barbies while I put on real plays in the house. I used the sheets as curtains to come out of and imitate my parents, who I knew best.» But life, like those of us who are part of it, is not preordained, it takes directions and then changes them, and we with it. «If I had not become an actress, I would have become a criminal lawyer. I would have loved that. I am actually still studying, albeit very slowly. But I have always thought that being a lawyer, with the mouth I have and as feisty as I am, would have been a good alternative path.»

Born in Naples and raised in the 2000s, Ludovica enjoyed watching “Gossip Girl” and “Glee” as the perfect late Gen Z. But not only that, «My absolute favourite film is “The Truman Show”, then there's “The Matrix”, especially the first part. I can not not mention “Notting Hill”, because a romantic comedy is always good. The “Friends” series ( TV ) I watch all the time, then “Truth” to be told and “The Morning Show”.» There is also a cult film from the Italian 1960s that the actress loves. «One character I would have loved to play is Claudia in Fellini's “8½”, played by Claudia Cardinale. I like Claudia a lot and I have this dream for a thousand reasons that I cherish. One of them is definitely related to what we both went through as actresses. “8½” is the first film in which Claudia was not dubbed, the first in which she uses her own voice. Just like her, I had to learn to accept the timbre of my voice. Sometimes it was presented as a problem, but now I have learned to appreciate it and be proud of it, it's my timbre and it's authentic.» Ludovica Coscione knows what she wants and what she deserves. 105 million views on RaiPlay, 47 million hours of viewing, including 3.7 million average listening time per device. Yes, we are talking about the figures for the third season of “Mare Fuori”. «The one received is not my success. It is the success of the series. We did not expect it, I did not expect it, but I have been trying to do this business for eight years, so now I am reaping what I have sown over the years. I realise though that this is nothing, it's just the beginning, so I do not even know if I would call it a success. My days have not changed, I just have more eyes looking at me and ready to judge me, for better or worse.»

Encounters, fate, karma, missed trains, changed schedules or ass, life is also that. «There is an exact moment when I felt I was in the right place at the right time and that was a few years ago. I had travelled to Rome to see my friend's play. There were several dates I could choose from, I chose one that was not originally scheduled at all. Well, on that very day I was sitting next to the current casting director of “Mare Fuori”, Marita D'Elia. Marita recognised me because I had already auditioned for her, and she said, "Let us keep in touch, because I want you to audition for a new series, and in my opinion you are a good fit." So that's when you were right to say “bucio di culo” in italian, was not it?» She laughs. Okay, ass, luck and the stars, but passion definitely helps. And no, we do not want to talk about the performance school we like so much in Italy because we do not think so, but - sometimes - escape valves save us and remind us that we too are unique. «I have so many passions, the first that comes to mind is photography, which my father passed on to me, especially filming, then billiards, because I am 80 years old inside and proud of it.»

From binge watching to velvet armchairs and popcorn. Soon we can see Ludovica Coscione in cinemas.«I would spoil everything. I am very, very grateful because I have so many future projects in the works that unfortunately I can not talk about. But what I can say is that I shot my first film in the cinema a year ago and now they are done with the editing, dubbing and everything, so it will finally come out very soon.» As we speak, we are in Naples, enveloped in wind and saltiness. «The first place of the heart that comes to mind here is definitely my parents' house. Whenever I can, I come back here to Naples to see them and Virgiliano Park, it's beautiful. Then there's a place I do not know what it's called, but I call it Bar del mare. There is a very small insight there that is difficult to reach by car because it is uncomfortable and super hidden. You go up on the rocks and suddenly you are in the middle of the sea. So you go to the café-bar, have your coffee and drink it on the rocks anyway.»
hero "The success received is not just mine. It is the success of the series. We did not expect it, I did not expect it, but I have been trying to do this job for eight years, so now I am reaping what I have sown."
